We combat natural disasters with acts of God Image

We combat natural disasters with acts of God

Disasters of incredible magnitude call for people of incredible generosity.

Who would you turn to in the event of a natural disaster?

Serving at the point of need

Whether it is a tornado, a flood, a hurricane or a single house fire, The Salvation Army is ready to serve.

How we help disaster survivors

The Salvation Army responds to large scale disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and floods on a national level.  Our local team is sometimes called to help. In recent years, volunteers from our community traveled to Florida and Texas in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  If you would be interested in volunteering to assist with disasters like these, contact us to schedule disaster relief training: 812-944-1018.

Local Disasters

We partner with the Fire and Police Departments to respond to large events, where we provide refreshments and support to first responders.   Our mobile kitchen is specially equipped for use in a variety of situations.

Disaster victims
Victims of local disasters such as a house fire may receive crisis support from The Salvation Army. We work with the fire department and local human services to help support families in a time of need.
